This London basement swimming pool and steam room project was a luxury design & build project which was first planned way back at the end of 2013.
The project required a pool, a steam room, a fully automated plant room and pool hall air handling system which would maintain a pleasant environment in the basement of an existing property.
This project was in the very popular Downshire Hill area just off Hampstead Heath in London.
As with almost all London projects site access was an issue, working with James Taylor Construction ensured site safety had to be kept at a premium and the project has reached completion within specified time frames.
The finishes specified by the architects where to a very high standard, resulting in very unique and eye catching pool hall, swimming pool and steam room.
Gold Flake Tiles
Glass Steam Room
Works on this basement pool were started by a local swimming pool company. Brookforge were appointed to to take over the pool works.
Brookforge worked with the completed bare pool shell. We explained all the aesthetic options to the client. High spec options were chosen: Stainless steel shell fittings, a Covrex automatic slatted cover, fibre optic lighting, energy saving Pentair Intelliflo pumps, Besgo automatic backwash valves, ozone water treatment and automatic chlorine and pH dosing.
Brookforge can offer expert assistance and can take over partially completed projects where, for whatever reason a change of pool contractor is required.
A seamless design which hides the unsightly elements of a swimming pool
We have successfully completed another luxury insulated pool, with a slotted overflow channel and fibre optic water jets to name a few features. A separate spa is built in behind the pool with seating, which houses the pool’s automatic slatted cover. This contemporary design makes use of the same pattern of ceramic tile for both the pool and the surround, to give a sense of continuity. The height of the water is at floor level, removing any visual obstacles between the user and the water, this feature lends itself towards a very inviting atmosphere. Read More…
Testing fibre optic water lights
As part of an extensive semi-underground extension, the client commissioned Brookforge to design and build an insulated deck level swimming pool using Quadlock ICF panels.
Brookforge worked with the client to adapt initial architect schematics and added all the pool specialist details and added features like stainless steel fittings, fibre optic lighting, illuminated water arches, automatic Besgo backwash valves automatic pool dosing and a custom automatic slatted cover.
This project is nearing handover stage. Pics to follow >>>
