The client asked Brookforge to convert an existing outdoor pool into a modern indoor pool. A pool hall has been constructed, enabling year round use of the pool. Additional features include:
- Depth increase
- Sprayed waterproof tanking
- Re-tiling of the pool and surround
- Stainless steel skimmers with automatic top-up
- Hidden, insulated slatted cover
- Heatstar air handling unit with air/water heating, dehumidification, heat pump and energy recovery
- Air handling duct-work and powder coated grilles
- Intellipool remote monitoring and control system
Depth increased, new skimmers installed and concrete tanked
We were asked to refurbish and improve an outdoor pool that was to be housed for year round use. The specification included increasing the depth of the entire pool, installing skimmers with an automatic top up, fitting new lights and install a modern plant room. A Calorex Delta air handling unit along with all duct-work was also specified and installed.
Unique Luxury Round Swimming Pool
This in one our more interesting pool projects, a 9.6m diameter round pool with 8 structural natural stone clad columns (0.5m dia) coming from within the pool.
The pool benefited from 16 led underwater lights with the surface kept clear by 4 stainless steel skimmers in the pool wall.
The pool plant room was fully automated with Besgo backwash systems and Poolwise chemical dosing backing up an ozone water treatment system.

A look at the construction of the first swimming pool to be built using the Quad-Lock ICF system.
The Quadlock insulated form-work system is ideally suited for swimming pools as its quick and easy to transport to site and constructing the pool shell walls can be achieved in rapid time. The Quad-Lock wall panels are manufactured from high density, biologically safe, long-lasting expanded polystyrene (EPS) and are held together with High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) wall Ties. The ties are available in many sizes thus enabling different uniform concrete wall thicknesses throughout the pool wall.
During the construction of the pool walls vertical and horizontal reinforcing steel is added to meet with the required structural reg’s. Filling the cavity with concrete creates solid, reinforced concrete wall which is then rendered, tanked and tiled. All fittings are fixed in place prior to the concrete pour and bracing ensures perfectly vertical, flat, insulated walls.
Over the many years of constructing pools using the Quadlock system, we’ve built up a vast wealth of tools and techniques which enable us to construct pools of any size, shape and style. Brookforge are pioneers in the insulated swimming pool market using the Quadlock pool system.
