Luxury Outdoor Swimming Pool in the Cotswolds
Set against views of the Cotswold countryside, this luxury outdoor swimming pool was designed to provide a family swimming space with details inspired by a classical Roman bath. Handcrafted Portland stone was used throughout the pool and its surrounding area, combining a traditional appearance with modern pool equipment.
Luxury Outdoor Pool Design in the Cotswolds
The project involved swimming pool design and consultancy covering the pool shell, filtration and plant room equipment. The finish centred on substantial Portland stone detailing, with carefully integrated fittings and lighting.
Concealed Automatic Pool Cover and Specialist Engineering
One of the most technically demanding elements was the concealed reel for the bespoke solar slatted pool cover. A cantilevered support arrangement had to be designed to accommodate the weight of the 90 mm-thick stone above the cover mechanism. This allowed the cover to be integrated without compromising the intended appearance of the pool surround.
Pool Equipment and Installation
The project included:
- Design and consultancy for the pool shell, filtration and plant room
- A bespoke solar slatted pool cover with structural support beneath the stone surround
- Stainless steel swimming pool fittings
- Colour-changing LED pool lighting
- A plant room incorporating automated filter backwashing
- An air-source heat pump
A Cotswolds Swimming Pool with Classical Detailing
The combination of handcrafted stone, concealed equipment and carefully planned engineering demonstrates how a bespoke outdoor swimming pool can be designed around both its setting and the practical requirements of day-to-day operation.
