Brookforge Swimming Pool Build

Rehab pool needs a second lease of life.

Pool for refurbishment

An old seaside rehabilitation pool needs a complete refurbishment for a change of use in a new redevelopment project.

The organization running the pool (formerly known as St Dunstan’s) was a charity providing support, rehabilitation and respite care to blind ex-service personnel of the British Armed Forces. The Charity was started in 1915.

The 18 metre heated indoor pool is among the recreational facilities at the centre in Ovingdean, Brighton

The pool is expensive to run, maintain and needs modernising with latest flow regulations. Work has already begun on the pool with the deep end depth being changed from a whopping 3m to a safer 1.35m deep. A new reinforced slab has been tied into the original pool shell with new Hi-flow main drains installed within it. Not only will the change in depth make the pool safer it will also reduce the overall water volume of the pool (meaning less water to heat, treat and filter thus reducing costs)

New suction/return fittings will be installed and piped back to a new updated plant room once the old original scum channels have been removed.. Next Stage….
