A new design outdoor pool has been completed by our in house designers.
Working directly with the customers; our project manager has finalized the designs for this unique pool.
This bespoke swimming pool is ready to go from paper drawings to being constructed onsite over the next 3 weeks.
The pool will be constructed using the Quadlock insulated concrete formwork and will be carried out by our in house team of pool builders. The initial groundworks and pool slab has been completed by the customer’s landscaper by following the installation drawings provided by our designers and structural engineer. Read More…
This large, bespoke, outdoor spa required a cover to keep in heat and keep out the debris. Due to the spa size and onsite storage problems a standard lift on cover was out of the question.
Brookforge pool builders where contacted to find a solution to this unique problem. Collaborating with a highly experienced spa cover manufacturer, the solution was to hide a fully automated hidden slatted cover in the base of the spa below a twin hatch door. The submersible in-roller motor was activated via a pool side remote control keeping it’s operation as simple as is possible
The thermal slatted cover was custom made to ensure it fitted tightly to the unique shape and top steps in the spa.
Concrete Pour Successful
The pool shell is cast in a single pour, a homogeneous structure is far stronger than a traditional concrete block construction.
The difference in level is to accommodate a cover which is hidden in a ‘pit’. The cover is an insulated slatted design, and features an automatic system which can be controlled wirelessly.
Quad-Lock ICF System
As the Quad-Lock panels act as shuttering for the pour, the result is clean without the wastage of ply shuttering. Quad-Lock is a modular system, which enables quick construction of insulated structures. Brookforge have adapted this system for use with swimming pool construction.
The swimming pool, balance tanks, spa and steps have been poured
Concrete Poured Successfully
This project comprises of a large spa bath, uniquely shaped deck level pool and balance tanks for each. The pool will have an insulated slatted cover which will be hidden when closed. Colour changing LED lights will be used to light up the water. These are controllable and compatible with automation systems.
Insulation has been a priority throughout this project. The project location is fairly exposed and is predominantly in the shade. Insulation panels have been installed externally and Quad-lock panels forming the pool’s internal structure. The slab will also be insulated, as will the base in the spa. The purpose of this insulation is minimise heat loss through the structure, thus saving potentially thousands compared to an uninsulated pool. The insulated slatted cover will help to counteract heat loss through evaporation.
Edging tiles are fixed
The surround tiles have nearly been finished, with the pool tiles not far behind. Stainless steel skimmers with an automatic top-up have been installed. A chromed stainless steel faceplate will be installed after tiling is finished. To view the construction products used please follow this link.
